Notes from England - Updates

So obviously big things have happened in my life in the last month (nearly two!). I'm a Dad! I've learned the true meaning of 'sleepless nights'. I've had my first experience with hallucinations brought on by that lack of sleep (That was night one - I've grown accustomed to my erratic sleeping pattern now...or more appropriately, Lucy's erratic sleeping pattern, which is improving).

Lucy is now nearly two months old. It's gone so quickly, and yet it feels like she's always been here, a part of my life. She and my wife are my world. I couldn't bear to be without them...either of them. They are what keeps me going - they are my reason for living.

Lucy's amazingly well-off for a 7 week old! She got her daddy all sorts of presents for Father's Day - and this is without an income! And yes, I am going to be one of those daddies.

We went to South Wales for a holiday at the start of June. You can see the pics over on my Picasa Photo Stream. It was a fabulous holiday - truly enjoyable and relaxing. Yet, with the added pressure of watching over Lucy, Helen and I were so exhausted by the end of it all that we had to come home just to recuperate!

You know what's cool about living in the UK? You can drive through Wales and see ornamental dragons everywhere. You can even purchase an ornamental dragon of your own and not look like a complete nutter. I should know.

I'm reading The Children of Hurin again. Or rather, it's being read to me - by none other than the one-and-only Christopher Lee himself. Pick up a copy of the unabridged audio book - you won't be disappointed.

I'm also being read Barack Obama's The Audacity of Hope, read by the narrator. Also very interesting so far. However, it does get some funny looks from my work colleagues.

That's all for now! Off to work!
